Why Small Batch Coffee Matters

At BE. AR. Coffee, we believe coffee should taste exactly how the roaster intended. That’s why every batch we produce is roasted in small quantities, carefully profiled and packed fresh by hand from our Coffee House in Peterborough.

Unlike mass-produced supermarket coffee, which is often roasted months before it reaches the shelf, our coffee is roasted in smaller batches with far tighter control over temperature, development time and flavour balance. That means we can genuinely dial in each coffee to bring out the best characteristics in every origin, whether that’s rich dark chocolate notes, syrupy sweetness, bright fruit or smooth low-acidity finishes.

People are often surprised to discover that freshly roasted speciality coffee doesn’t have to cost more than supermarket coffee either. In many cases, our delivered coffee works out at a similar price, sometimes even less, than premium supermarket brands. The difference is that your coffee hasn’t sat in a warehouse, distribution centre and supermarket aisle losing freshness for months before you drink it.
